About This Sangha

We are a community of residential and non-residential practitioners who practice in the Plum Village Tradition under the guidance of our resident Dharma teacher Chan Hao, who has worked with Toronto Mindfulness Practice Community and the Bodhi Sangha for many years. We practice walking meditation, sitting meditation, Dharma sharing, Beginning Anew, chanting, and recitation and observation of the Five Mindfulness Trainings. We have our daily practice schedule for residents of the center and we offer monthly days of mindfulness and overnight retreats for local sanghas. Our center is located on fifty-two acres of beautiful land roughly an hour and forty minutes' drive from Toronto Pearson International Airport. We chose the name Dharma River for our center because the Saugeen River runs through its property and because we 'go as a river', meaning we practice as a community.
